About Alex

Alex Lemberg – E-RYT & YACEP (Yoga Alliance)
“Alexander Lemberg is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP®), which recognizes this person as an expert in one or more of Yoga Alliance’s Educational Categories.”

THE START

Alex is a father of two, owner of Raseborgs Yogaskola in Tammisaari (Finland) and a certified yoga teacher.

He started practicing yoga in 2013 and went to his first teacher training in 2014. He started teaching in 2014, and opened up a yoga shala, in Tammisaari, Finland, which he has been running up until 2021. Because of covid, less and less people are actually visiting the yoga shala. Moving the yoga school partly online to support peoples home practic is starting to make more and more sense.

Home practice is the STRENGTH of asthanga yoga!

TEACHING STYLE

It’s important to Alex that the practices are taught at the appropriate level for each practitioner, by allowing space for everyone, and never forcing anything particular to happen. Transformation through practice is inevitable any way – and this cannot happen in a hurry. At the same time Alex can be strict when needed to. Yoga should truly be for all that wish to practice, regardless of age, gender, body type or previous experience. Alex is teaching in a very gentle and therapeutic way.

“I want you to become confident in your practice!”

For the ashtanga practitioner, Alex can help you with primary and intermediate asans.

When practicing with Alex, you can ensure that you will get a safe and effective practice. You will learn to practice in such a way, that you can, and want to sustain your practice for the next 20 years or for the rest of your life.

A passion of Alex’ is studying and chanting the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. This will be clearly visible in his teaching style, where he also has the capability of making this 2000-year-old text relevant today.

ALEX’S TEACHERS

Alex has been practicing and studying yoga for about 8 years, and specifically ashtanga yoga for about 6 years with mysore authorized teachers by Pattabhi Jois himself (Petri Räisänen, Juha Javanainen, Simon Borg-Olivier, David Garrigues (zoom), and more…). Alex has also taken part in shorter workshops with Kino MacGregor, Sadhguru (Jaggi Vasudev), to mention a few.

TEACHER TRAINING

Alex’s 12-month teacher training (year 2014-2015) was run by: Suvi Hakala (FIN), Sue Woodd (ENG) and Julie Hansen (ENG), who are excellent teachers of many important teaching aspects for modern people in the hatha and vinyasa yoga methods. Making the practice safe and accessible for everyone is one of Alex’s passions and areas of expertise.

“Teaching newcomers is something that makes me enthusiastic to continue doing what I do. Even if a beginner never return to class, I know that they still have learned how to breathe, and how to perform the first basic parts of physical a yoga practice. They will carry that as a gift from me to them for the rest of their lives.”
